SIX WEEK OLD DIES IN BROOKLYN FALL
A six-week-old girl died on October 13 after the stroller she was in fell down an elevator shaft inside a Brooklyn, New York, building, NY Daily News reported. The stroller carrying her rolled from her mother’s grasp and down the shaft when the elevator doors suddenly opened on the 23rd floor of a Coney Island apartment complex the source quotes officials as saying was “riddled with violations.” The baby and stroller landed on top of the elevator car, which was six stories below. The building had some 20 complaints about out-of-service elevators since January 2015 and currently has four elevator code violations. The elevator in which the incident occurred had recently been placed out of service.
